Heeg, The Netherlands. August 17th – 23rd 2020
Heeg, Friesland. The rally will begin and end at Heeg, and we will spend the week sailing the interconnected waterways of the area.
This will be aboard two ‘mother’ ships, In Dubio and Atalanta, which will take the direct route to the final destination each day. The ‘mother’ ships will be available starting Monday late afternoon through noon on Sunday.
The first day (Tuesday)we will sail on the Heegermeer. Starting Wednesday the mother ships sail to the evenings destination, while the Wayfarers will meander on a roundabout route through the wonderfully scenic Dutch waterway system in Friesland. Along the way there will be opportunity to explore the many traditional Dutch towns of the area. On Saturday we return to Heeg in good time for our Farewell Dinner ashore.
An added bonus for those who are able to get over to the Netherlands for any of the 5 days before the rally starts is the amazing spectacle of ‘Sail Amsterdam’, centred around 50 Tallships, together with a flotilla of other craft. See the website: Sail Amsterdam August 12th – 16th, https://www.sail.nl/
Accommodation aboard the mother ships is limited to 43 participants, and places will be allocated to ensure the greatest possible number of nationalities are represented. It is likely that the numbers would be exceeded, so early application is recommended or you might be on the waiting list.
Prices for the rally per person:
early bird € 510, payment shall be in before January 1st, 2020;
after 1 January 1st 2020 the price is € 560 / person.
